The Power of Radical Candor and Fierce Conversations in Leadership

We would like to introduce our White Paper Issue No. 24:

The Power of Radical Candor and Fierce Conversations in Leadership

Authored by Sarah Yu, Senior Director at PERSOLKELLY Consulting, this paper explores the value of radical candor and fierce conversations as leadership frameworks. It highlights their shared emphasis on direct communication and the challenges of applying them to individuals who prefer more harmonious interaction styles.

The White Paper starts by clarifying the frameworks, radical candor and fierce conversations. Next, it dives into the challenges with certain communication styles before highlighting the common ground between the two frameworks. Following that, it addresses the strategies to overcome challenges and gives a practical toolkit for the implementation. Lastly, the paper provides a call to action for HR, learning and development, and talent management professionals on how they can spark transformative change.

Australia Labour Market Insights: April – June, 2024

Jobs market weaker but still resilient.

Australia’s labour market shows continuing signs of weakness as the economy slows, with fewer job ads and higher unemployment.

Predictably, as the broader economy weakens, businesses have scaled back hiring activity, while some firms have begun to shed staff.

But it is far from a collapse in the labour market. Indeed, the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics jobs figures show a resilient employment market that continues to see firm growth in some sectors – and enough overall expansion to suggest that Australia may avoid dipping into recession.

But in some industry sectors, job vacancies are drying up rapidly – and there is more intense competition among candidates.
